Meddle - the complete album

To me Meddle was always a complete musical movement - age 15 the first Floyd music that hit me - taped on one side of a boots c90 tape it was my soundtrack for months - from howling dogs to scouse football supporters - shattering guitar and glorious voices it made fif ofthe early 70s liveable.

It just seems a most powerful song

Comfortably Numb, peerless

I was going to say Brain Damage / Eclipse from Dark Side for the lyrics and Richard's hammond(?) organ, but that's really 2 songs and therefore cheating. So, for me it has got to be the peerless guitar playing of David (not Dave?) Gilmour on Comfortably Numb. When I first heard the album in the early eighties I must have bored all my schoolmates rigid going on and on about this song and the fantastic, emotive guitar playing. The song immediately stood out for me on The Wall and continues to provide listening pleasure today. The shiver that ran up my spine when Gilmour played the song as an encore when the last tour hit Glasgow totally justified the £50 ticket price. Magic.

RIP Richard Wright

Dave.

Shine on...

It's a great song with a beautiful melody. And is for Syd.
